MetroCard Mosaics
Nina Boesch has created hundreds of mosaics using nothing but discarded plastic fares for New York’s subway system. Her NYC-inspired pieces include a pigeon, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire StateĀ Building, and portraits of iconic New Yorkers. In total the German artist has sliced up more than 30,000 cards in the ten years she’s been creating the collages, and she now sells her pieces for up to $3,500.
